The Kottayam is a famous tourist place whose name is derived from the word "Kotta" and this word means "Fortress" in Malayalam language. The Kottayam is a old town and known for its hilltop and now known as Kunnumpuram. Jhumar
The jhumar dance has come from Old Pakistan place Sandalbar, but It is now very much a part of Indian Punjabi folk heritage. This dance is graceful gait, based on tempo and specific Jhumar rhythm. The all Dancers makes circle around the drummer, and keep up a soft, sibilant chorus as they dance.
