Anandpur Sahib is one of the most important shrines of the Sikhs witnessing the birth of Khalsa 300 years ago. Anandpur Sahib is the second after Amristsar which marks the history of sikh culture and khalsa. The city is also known as the holy City of Bliss in the state of Punjab, India. Sri Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara is linked with the religious tradition and history of Sikhism. Anandpur Sahib was founded by the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji, in the year 1664. Gurudwara Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib is the centerpiece of Anandpur Sahib because The Khalsa was revealed here by their tenth and last guru, Guru Gobind Singh ji, who selected the five beloved ones and administered baptism of Khanda (Khande di Pahul), instituting the Khalsa panth on Baisakhi, 30 Mar 1699. Since, then this gurdwara has been associated with the devotion of sikh religion towards their Guru Gobind Singh ji. Other pilgrimage attractions of Anandpur Sahib Gurudwara are Gurudwara Guru-Ka-Mahal (Bhora Sahib), Gurudwara Thara Sahib, Gurudwara Sis-Ganj Sahib, Akal Bunga and more.
