Sariska National Park India

Sariska National Park India

The Sariska sanctuary or Sariska National Park India covers an area of about 498 square kilometer and established as a sanctuary in the year 1958. In 1979, the park was marked as a tiger reserve and then finally it was declared national park in 1982. Formerly the Sariska National Park India acted as a hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Alwar. The dense jungle of the park mainly comprises dry deciduous species of plants like Acacia, ber, Salar and Dhak. Tigers are the major attraction of this beautiful park.

Travelers can also witness a huge variety of Nilgai, Chital and sambars at the park. It’s quite difficult to catch a glimpse of the tiger in broad daylight, unlike the Ranthambhor tiger reserve. Other species which are also found in the park includes Indian palm Civet, Striped Hyaena, Indian porcupine and leopards. The forest look lovely during the monsoon. The lush green vegetation of the park is a treat to the eyes. But dryer months are the better time to take a look at the animals residing there. Moreover the travelers can clearly see up to a great distance because foliage becomes sparse after the monsoons. March – April is the best time to visit the park.

Sariska National Park India is also a birdwatcher’s paradise. An exotic collection of India pea fowl is sure to catch your attention. Travelers can also visit other important attractions around the park while on a visit here. There are plenty of hotels and lodges around the park where the guests can stay in great luxury and comfort.
